Poetry with The Purple and Gold Collective In-Person
Poets from The Purple and Gold Writers Collective will deliver a series of innovative and engaging poetry events in Wexford Library on four Thursdays in November. They will read poems, share stories, and encourage discussion and engagement from the audience.
Margaret Galvin is a Tipperary writer, long time resident in Wexford where she worked with the library service and as Editor of Ireland’s Own. A writer of poetry and prose, she has published six collections of poetry, most recently Our House, Delirious from Revival Press, Limerick. She has a major interest in and commitment to creative/therapeutic writing in health and social care environments. She frequently facilitates writing workshops in such locations. Her work is regularly broadcast on RTE 1 Sunday Miscellany. Her poetry has recently been placed in a number of competitions, The Frances Browne Award, The Michael Mullan Award and the Francis Ledwidge.
Alice Doyle is an intuitive, transformational and prophetic existential Poet. She was shortlisted for the 2023 Skylight 47 Open Window Mentoring Programme and has been published by Drawn to the Light Press, Wexford Women Writing Undercover, The Wexford Bohemian and Neuropride Ireland. Alice writes about the Soul, nature, her late discovery that she is autistic and multiply neurodivergent, her struggles with existential awareness, belonging and trust, and the quest to find our truest paths in life.
Álanna Hammel is an award-winning writer, speaker and editor of The Wexford Bohemian. Her debut poetry collection Cruel & Vicious sold out three times.
