Between Art and Craft: Keeping the Tradition of Textile Art Alive

Between Art and Craft: Keeping the Tradition of Textile Art Alive In-Person

This talk by local artist Trish Middleton will explore the significance of keeping the tradition of textile art alive in today's modern world.

Textiles often are categorized somewhere between art and craft, and this has led to debates on its aesthetic value for centuries.Textiles have long served their utilitarian use, but when were they considered a real art form?

Lets talk about contemporary artists keeping the tradition alive and why its value in art is so significant.

Trish Middleton is a Wexford born artist specialising in textiles. The art and craftmanship that is implemented into every piece of work, takes hours and years of practice.

Join Trish to discuss and celebrate all historical, contemporary and local artists. All are welcome.
