Ireland and the League of Nations 1923 with Barry Lacey In-Person
In September 1923, the newly established Irish Free State became a member of the League of Nations, taking its place on the international stage. Historian-in-residence Barry Lacey will discuss the context surrounding the event, the Free State delegation whom attended and what it meant for a country which had just come out of a bitter year-long civil war.
