Poetry Day Ireland: Good Sports, Poetry Event in Wexford Library. In-Person
This year’s All-Ireland Poetry Day takes place on Thursday April 25th.
The theme, ‘Good Sports,’ invites the nation to read, listen to, write and share poems prompted by that idea... whether that be the clash of the ash, the narrow miss, the crushing defeat or the moment of triumph.
Wexford poets, Margaret Galvin and Paul Hennessy will offer their unique interpretation of the notion of ‘Good Sports.’
Margaret Galvin’s lyrical narrative poetry, examining very varied aspects of life, can always be relied upon to deliver a punch!
Paul Hennessy’s incisive observations celebrate both achievement and loss in poems that catch the imagination and linger long in the memory.
