Industry & Policy in Independent Ireland, 1922-1972: with a specific focus on the south-east with Professor Frank Barry In-Person

Frank Barry's recent book Industry & Policy in Independent Ireland, 1922-1972 (Oxford University Press, 2023) charts the evolution of Irish industry and individual industrial sectors from the foundation of the state to the eve of EEC accession and identifies for the first time the largest employers in operation at key dates throughout the period.  This talk will include a specific focus on the firms and industries of the southeast region.

Frank Barry is Professor of International Business & Economic Development at Trinity College Dublin and a member of the Royal Irish Academy.  His current research interests are in the fields of foreign direct investment and the modern economy, and in Irish economic and business history.
