The Unique Folklore of County Wexford

Join folklorist Michael Fortune (folklore.ie) for an overview of the unique folklore, practices and customs of his native Co. Wexford.
For the Fleadh, Michael will present an hour-long talk which will look at funeral practices, wedding customs, mumming traditions and farming and calendar rituals and beliefs. The talk will also make reference to the shared links with the rest of Ireland, Europe and Newfoundland.

Wexford native Michael Fortune is Artist, Folklorist, Film Maker and Creator. He continues to live in his native Wexford, at the foot of Mount Leinster, with his family and continues to conduct project work throughout the country.
