Mirrored in Gougane Barra: Book Launch & Reading with Alice Doyle

Mirrored in Gougane Barra: Book Launch & Reading with Alice Doyle In-Person

Join local poet, Alice Doyle for the launch of her her first published poetry collection, Mirrored in Gougane Barra.Alice Doyle's journeys to Gougane Barra were two of many essential steps on her Soul path. On this stage of her path, she was beginning to own and inhabit her newly discovered autistic and multiply neurodivergent identities. It was a time of unravelling and unfolding, during which she had already discovered her poetic voice, the inkwell of her Soul. It had been waiting for her her entire life and, line by line, it is guiding her home. It drew Alice to Gougane Barra.

Mirrored in Gougane Barra is a deep listening to, and observation of the landscape of Gougane Barra and herself. It is a journey into being, of inhabiting her true self and of becoming more visible to herself and others. Alice is still travelling. She makes her path by walking on it. If you are searching, it is never too late. Begin within. Her journey began with mirroring, validation and unconditional acceptance of who she was. It is best expressed by her poem, The Importance of a Good Mirror.
