Light Notes of Gladness - Interactive reading of poetry and stories with Margaret Galvin and A.M Cousins. In-Person
Bealtaine, the national month of creativity for older people will be celebrated at Wexford library on May 8th with a reading of poetry and prose by Wexford writers, A M Cousins and Margret Galvin. Both have published collections with Revival Press, Limerick in recent years. Both are regular voices on RTE 1 ‘Sunday Miscellany.’
Writer and Editor Dermot Bolger regards A M Cousins’ poetry as ‘sure-footed, superbly crafter and grounded in earned wisdom’, while Margaret Galvin’s work is seen by Dr. Richard Hayes of SETU as ‘deeply felt, compelling and utterly convincing.’
The writers will be joined by Eire Ni Fhaolain, traditional singer and harpist, who will offer a musical interpretation of the themes addressed. An engaging and thought–provoking evening is assured as the writers consider the people, places and events that have shaped them. Hear how clothes sent in parcels from London resulted in some peculiar combinations and how a graduation ball in 1975 didn’t quite live up to the expectations of one teenage girl.
Booking is essential.
