The Folklore of Flowers with Aedín Ní Thiarnaigh In-Person
Join us at Wexford Library during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 for a captivating talk exploring the rich folklore associated with Ireland’s native wildflowers.
Aedín Ní Thiarnaigh is a broadcaster, writer, and folklorist from Enniscorthy, now based on Inis Meáin. Best known for her nature programmes on RTÉ and TG4, she shares her love of Ireland’s native flora with a wide audience through the popular Instagram account @BlathannaFiaine.
In 2025, she appeared as a featured guest on The Tommy Tiernan Show, where she spoke about her connection to the Irish landscape and its rich traditions.
Aedín is the founder of Bláthanna Fiáine Wildflower Walks, Inis Meáin, and leads seasonal tours exploring the island’s rare and beautiful plant life. She has spent years collecting newly recorded folklore linked to Ireland’s wildflowers, blending botany with cultural heritage.
