CD Launch: The First Month of Summer with Conor Moriarty In-Person
Conor Moriarty is one of Ireland's leading accordion players. He began learning the accordion at the tender age of 7 from many of the great musicians from his local area of Killarney.
Crowned All Ireland Champion on Melodeon at the 2009 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann he went on to win the much-coveted title of Senior All Ireland Accordion Champion at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in 2010. He also completed his MA in Irish traditional music performance at University Limerick that same year.
He released his debut solo album in 2010 “All in a Day’s Play” to critical acclaim, and in 2014 alongside Tara Breen and Stephen Rooney formed the band “The Trí Tones” which toured all over Ireland and Europe.
In 2013, Conor began working as Musical Director with Siamsa Tíre, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland and their great music/dance show “Turas”.
In 2022, he took up the mantle as Musical Director of Gaelic Roots, one of Ireland's best loved music and dance shows and continues to enjoy performing alongside the amazing cast.
Conor released his second solo album “The First Month of Summer” in 2024 and he is very much looking forward to performing at the 2025 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
