Heritage Week Film Screening of Forbidden Bonds

Heritage Week Film Screening of Forbidden Bonds In-Person

Forbidden Bonds is a new historical short film, from author Maria Nolan and filmmaker Dick Donaghue. A tale of Love, Duty, Treachery and Murder in Enniscorthy Castle in 1240 as 16 year old Maud de Prendergast (Katie Cloke) battles with feelings of love for a freeman (David Doyle), and her father's political ambitions (Jer Ennis).

The film features many of Wexford’s talented local actors, Joan O Ruairc, Kate Breen, Joe Mernagh, and Karen Franklin, to name but a few. The film also includes costume work by Barbara Gutherie, which really added to the film’s authenticity.

Wexford Film Workshop and Enniscorthy Re-enactors have won many international awards in the past two years with their collaborative historical films about the war of independence and civil war based on real events.
