Wexford Libraries Welcomes New Historian Paul Byrne with Meet and Greet Event In-Person
On August 18th Paul Byrne became the new official Historian-in-Residence for Commemoration 2025.
Wexford Libraries would like to invite the public to join them in a “Welcome, Meet & Greet” event for Paul Byrne on Saturday, September 27th, at Wexford Library branch, Mallin Street. This event coincides with National Public Libraries Open Day.
Attendees will hear from Paul about his plans for the residency. Guests will also be able to engage in conversation with Paul at the event. Paul will be available from 10:30am – 12:30pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
Paul resides in Wexford Town and currently works as a Tourism Representative and Historian at Enniscorthy Castle, the National 1798 Rebellion Centre and the Vinegar Hill Battlefield Site.
Paul has a BA (Hons) in Cultural Heritage Studies and a postgraduate degree in Public History & Cultural Heritage. He is currently studying for an MA in Museum Practice and Management at Ulster University.
Paul is looking forward to working with the various library branches in County Wexford in developing a programme that will help connect the people of County Wexford to their local history.
